Nordtveit has just six months left on his current contract at the Bundesliga club.
The Sunday People reports that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to sign the 25-year-old Norwegian defender on a free transfer.
Nordtveit has previously spent time at Arsenal, during his youth career.
