Hicks said: “We should be winning things. The squad is good enough now to be winning things.
“If it doesn’t, we’ll have to look at the circumstances and have a meeting at the end of the year to try and understand what happened.”
He added: “We’ve got our work cut out in the Champions League.
“If we didn’t qualify, it would be terribly disappointing. But I’m an optimist. I think we can get out of this.
“I’d like to win both the Premier League and the Champions League.
“I know from speaking to the fans that they really want to win the Premier League.
“I don’t want to predict failure. I want to predict success.”
