The Sunday Mirror reports that Liverpool scouts watched the midfielder in action for Newcastle against Swansea on Saturday.
The 25-year-old Ivorian is also being tracked by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Newcastle are reportedly looking for around £25million for the highly-rated midfielder.
