Liverpool FC has set its sights on Napoli’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, joining Chelsea and Arsenal in the race for his signature.
Jurgen Klopp’s team has actively been assessing Osimhen’s form, dispatching scouts to observe him during Nigeria’s international friendlies in Portugal against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique, according to The Sun.
Despite a hamstring injury curtailing his game time against Saudi Arabia, Osimhen’s prowess remains well-known to Klopp, having been instrumental in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season.
However, clouds have been forming over Osimhen’s bond with Napoli, especially with head coach Rudi Garcia. An additional hiccup involving social media has added to the whispers of unrest.
Nevertheless, on the pitch, Osimhen continues to shine, clocking in six goals this campaign, solidifying his reputation and a valuation exceeding £100 million.
Klopp, aware of potential overtures for Liverpool star Mo Salah in January, is looking ahead for potential reinforcements. However, Liverpool’s path to Osimhen is not without obstacles. Chelsea, eager to amplify their frontline, and Arsenal, aiming to eclipse Manchester City in scoring, are both vying for the Nigerian forward.
