Liverpool have emerged as frontrunners in the chase for Dutch dynamo Teun Koopmeiners, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
While Juventus had set sights on the Atalanta midfielder as a key target, it’s the Anfield outfit that’s leading the pursuit.
The 26-year-old, known for his prowess in midfield, is seen as a pivotal piece in Liverpool’s strategic midfield transformation initiated last summer.
Although Koopmeiners wouldn’t directly fill the potential void left by Salah, his acquisition would leverage any transfer windfall, allowing for further squad enhancements, including the addition of a new winger.
Koopmeiners have also been linked with Tottenham, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Inter Milan and Napoli in recent months.
