He said: “We’ve come a long way since the final in Istanbul.
“Rafa has made some clever signings to strengthen the squad but we know we can get better.
“I think the future is looking bright for the football club. Rafa has gone on record saying that if there’s a signing he thinks will strengthen the team, he will probably make it.
“Everyone is aware of what is happening off the pitch at Liverpool. If the people above Rafa give him the backing and support, he can make us strong.
“I’ve total belief and confidence that he can continue to take us forward and bring success.
“Since I’ve been in the team, we’ve been a fantastic cup side. The next challenge is to improve in the league and try to get involved in the title race.”
