Sturridge, who has scored nine goals for the Reds this season, sustained a sprained ankle in training.
The England international will not be fit for the clash with Hull City, but Liverpool’s medical team are still assessing the extent of the problem.
The club confirmed Sturridge’s injury in a statement: “Daniel Sturridge will be assessed by the club’s medical staff today after the striker rolled his ankle in training.
“Sturridge returned to training at Melwood this week; however, he sustained an ankle sprain which will require further assessment.”
