The 29-year-old has long been linked with a move to Marseille and the defender will sign a two-and-a-half year deal with the French side.
Marseille said on their official website: “An agreement has been reached between Marseille, Rennes and Rod Fanni for the two-and-a-half year deal that will be signed when the player has undergone the usual medical checks on Wednesday night.”
The defender has previously been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.
