He said: “It was so frustrating after the Everton game. Derbies are always difficult but they just came to keep everything tight and try to get us on the break.
“In the end they were happy with a point and we were frustrated. I’ve never played in a derby game like that before.
“Usually they are about two teams having a right good go at each other but that one was a bit different.
“Now it’s important for us to get three points at the weekend. One thing we know is it’s going to be a tough game played in a great atmosphere because the Geordie fans will be right up for it.”
