Lo Monaco claims Vargas is worth £30m

The Peruvian joined the Viola in a £7million deal from the Rossoblu in the summer of 2008.

“I don’t know exactly how much Fiorentina could ask for now, but we weren’t wrong about him,” noted Lo Monaco.

“The price tag could easily rise to £30m because there are no left-wingers like him on the market.

“He is a world-class champion. We discovered him when he was playing in Argentina at Colon and even then people were talking about him a lot.

“Even when he was struggling I always said he was an important player who had massive room for improvement.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised to see Real Madrid making a move for him. Fiorentina are the right team for him though,” insists Lo Monaco.

“The Viola will be able to secure him plenty of success, although I realise how difficult it is to say no to the best clubs in the world…”
