He told the Evening Chronicle: “At the moment it is play, bench, play, bench – it isn’t ideal.
“Life for me at Newcastle is very different to what it was at Deportivo.
“Here my role is as a striker and if that is where I am needed to do a job for the team, then so be it.
“I played out wide on the left for Depor – a position in which I have done well in the past.”
