The 17-year-old made his debut for United last season and managed to score crucial goals against Aston Villa and Sunderland.
“I have to thank Sir Alex because without him I wouldn’t have the chance to play in the first team,” Macheda told United’s official website.
“I know I have to work hard and make sure he gives me more chances.
“It’s very important for me to learn from Michael because he is one of the best strikers. If I work with him and learn, I can get better, day after day.”
