The 31-year-old joined City from Italian giants Inter Milan on transfer deadline day.
“I want to make great history at Manchester City as I have done over here at Inter Milan,” he told City TV.
“I want to make history over there and that is why I have made this decision and I am sure everything will be all right, because I am going to work alongside great players.
“It will be a pleasure working alongside them and to help them win many titles.”
