The 30-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at Malaga until the summer of 2012.
Marescia had his contract with Greek side Olympiakos cancelled in August this year.
“I come with a lot of hope and intention to contribute and help the team have a good season,” said Maresca.
“I’m already looking forward to playing with Malaga and start working with my new team-mates.”
Maresca will be unable to feature for Malaga until January 2011.
