The former Roma star tore a muscle fibre in his left hamstring during the draw with Athletic Bilbao on Monday.
“[Baptista] is totally ruled out for the game against Barcelona on Saturday, and will need approximately two or three weeks rest to see how the injury develops,” Malaga’s medical officer Juan Carlos Perez Frias is quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
“He should have no problems starting next season,” he added.
