Pearce said: “We came into this game after losing in the cup and sometimes it is harder to play in front of your own fans when things are not going well.
“People are also telling me this club is split down the middle but this display showed otherwise.
“I was pleased with the endeavour we showed.
“We are bitterly disappointed we lost the game and felt we should have got something out of it.
“We have got 10 matches to go and must make sure we take that endeavour into the weekend.”
