Manchester City are keen on signing West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta before the transfer window closes.
TalkSport reports that the City want to sign Paqueta, but the Hammers want to keep the Brazilian midfielder at the club after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal earlier this summer.
Portuguese outlet Ge Globo reports that City have already made an opening £70million bid for Paqueta, but the expectations are that West Ham will reject the offer.
West Ham have struggled to bring in new players, after having sold Rice. The Hammers have seen bids for Manchester United duo Harry Maguires and Scott McTominay rejected. The Hammers have also had a £20million bid for 28-year-old midfielder James Ward-Prowse rejected earlier this summer.
But it is expected that West Ham could be tempted to sell Paqueta, should they receive an offer they cannot refuse from Pep Guardiola’s side.
