The Sun reports that City chiefs held a meeting yesterday with Kovacic’s agent with a view to signing the youngster.
The 17-year-old has been dubbed the ‘Croatian Lionel Messi’.
Kovacic has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.
