The People reports that City have called in leading employment lawyers to help them with the ongoing saga at Eastlands.
City are desperate to punish the Argentine striker for gross misconduct after he refused to go on against Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier this week.
Should City suspend the striker for six weeks he will not return until November. City are expected to be keen to sell the striker in the January transfer window.
City chief executive John MacBeath is leading the investigation panel at Eastlands and Tevez is expected to give his account of events in Munich early this coming week.
