But the 22-year-old admits his future will hinge on the two clubs agreeing a fee for the defender, who joined City in a big-money move after last summer’s World Cup.
“It all still depends on the price,” Boateng said in Hamburg on Thursday.
“I would like to join Munich, they are the number one in Germany and are among the top six clubs in Europe.
“I am very confident and I hope it works out. It will become clear in the coming weeks.
“From my side everything is clear.”
