The Scot returned to action on Wednesday after missing five games with an ankle problem, but is being helped by a pain-killing injection.
Fletcher has a piece of ankle bone floating around his foot.
He said: “It got to the point where it was too sore to train and play so something had to be done and I had the injection.
“Eventually it is going to need to be cleaned out, but the injection will see me through a few months.
“That is the plan, to get through to the summer and then do something.”
