Italian newspaper Tuttosport reports that both United and Bayern are keeping tabs on the Italy international.
Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has hinted at signing a new goalkeeper at the end of the season.
“[Hans-Jorg] Butt will continue until the end of the season, then we will buy a great keeper in the summer,” Hoeness said.
Manchester United are also reportedly looking for a replacement for veteran keeper Edwin van der Sar.
But manager Sir Alex Ferguson ruled out a move for CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, after their clash with the Russians in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Ferguson said: “It is only rumour. We are not showing any interest in him (Igor Akinfeev).
“We are happy with our goalkeeping situation at the moment and wouldn’t be looking for another one.
“We wouldn’t be interested, but I have to say he is a fantastic goalkeeper.
“He is athletic, with a powerful build, and his distribution his good.
“He really saved CSKA from a big defeat against us. He made one very good save in the first half and four I think in the second half. He was outstanding.”
