A representative for the midfielder has revealed that the 23-year-old has set his sights on a move to Germany.
“He wants to go to Bayern, and Bayern are still interested in signing him,” Ersin Akan told Sport1.
“I know that they still want him, but the transfer fee is a problem. He’s just waiting to see how things pan out, but he would like it if the transfer takes place. I’d say chances that it will go ahead are 50-50 now.”
The 23-year-old has recently been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona.
Martinez’s current contract with Athletic Bilbao is set to expire in the summer of 2016.
