Danny Murphy gave Fulham the lead after he dispossessed Paul Scholes and fired a low shit past United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
“To lose 3-0 is extremely disappointing but Fulham deserved the victory and we just need to get on with it and move forward,” he told Sky Sports.
“There were key moments in the game. The first goal was not the most pleasant goal to have given away, there were a couple of mistakes there.
“But to give away a goal just after half-time is never what you want because then your team-talk goes out of the window.”
