Fletcher was booked by the referee early in the second half of the 3-3 draw with CSKA Moscow on Tuesday, as he appeared to be tripped in the penalty area by Vasili Berezutsky.
Ferguson told Sky Sports: “I can’t believe it, I just can’t believe that one.
“It’s one of the worst I’ve seen in my lifetime. Unbelievable.”
