Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney scored the other goals in the game.
“Diouf has a lot of attributes, he is very good in the air,” said Ferguson. “We are excited about him.
“The Berbatov goal could make a difference to him – I hope so. Wayne Rooney’s goal settled us.
“We have a big programme coming up and we wanted to watch Diouf and Michael Owen together.
“Berbatov was feeling his knee again. We will look at him on Monday to decide whether he needs an operation.”
