The 23-year-old keeper joined Rochdale on Friday and is set to make his debut against Chesterfield on Saturday.
Heaton had just returned from a loan spell at Queens Park Rangers before leaving for Rochdale.
Heaton told the club’s official website: “I am looking to improve and develop and hopefully help get some wins for the team.”
