Ferguson is fed up with Hargreaves’ inconsistency and constant niggling injuries, according to News of the World.
The 27-year-old has started just 17 Premier League matches for United and have cost the club £1million per league start.
Hargreaves joined United from Bayern Munich for £17million in July, 2007.
The England international could leave United in January should a bid of around £15million arrive.
