But the Frenchman admits United did not want to sell him.
“I signed a four-year contract with the club, and whoever wants to sign me has to go to [Sir Alex] Ferguson’s office and deal with him directly,” the 29-year-old told Sky Sports.
“Inter was very interested in me a year ago, as well as Real Madrid. With Inter, there was serious contacts, but United did not want to sell me.”
