The South Korea captain’s contract will keep him at the club until the summer of 2012.
“If it is possible I want to finish my career at Manchester United,” he told The Korea Times.
“Manchester United is the world’s best club. There is no reason to move to any other team.
“As the club encourages footballers to stay with the team, there are many old boys such as (Paul) Scholes and (Ryan) Giggs.
“If the club takes care of me and helps me improve, it is natural to stick with them. However, we don’t know the future.”
