The 19-year-old is currently at Sampdoria on loan until the end of the season.
“I am very happy, I have found an experienced team with great players,” Macheda told Sky Sport Italia.
“It will not be easy here in Genoa, but I am here to do well and I hope to give my best and take this team into Europe.
“Will I stay another year? We have to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson. I don’t know if it will be possible, but never say never.”
