The 21-year-old picked up a metatarsal injury against Reading on the opening day of the season.
He said: “I’m fine. I feel I could have played a few weeks ago and I’m a bit disappointed I haven’t.
“But it was probably the best thing in the long run. I’ve been dying to play. I wanted to make sure the manager knew I was ready to come back.
“The manager and physios have been a bit cautions and rightly so – it’s a long season.
“Hopefully, I can get a run-out on Wednesday and get back playing.”
He added: “It’s the third time I’ve had this injury and it was disappointing it happened so early in the season.
“But because I’ve had them before I know when I’m ready to return.
“I know there has been a lot of talk about the boots but they are fine. If you have a lad like Michael Duberry stamp on your foot, then it is quite likely that foot is going to break.”
