Sky Sports says the England Under 21 international has signed a new four-and-a-half year contract that will keep him at Stoke until 2014.
Shawcross has impressed since joining Stoke from Manchester United.
The defender has been strongly linked with a January return to Old Trafford and Liverpool are also tracking the youngster.
