The Sunday Mail reports that Fergie has been encouraged to make a final bid for the midfielder after Sneijder decided to pull out of training with Inter Milan for ‘personal reasons’.
Sneijder also stated he would not feature in the friendly against Olympiakos on Sunday.
The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but reports claim United are refusing to match his current £250,000-a-week wages.
But Sneijder is reportedly willing to take a pay cut in order to secure a move to United.
