Berbatov hobbled off with an ankle injury in Wednesday’s Carling Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.
But Ferguson insists the Bulgarian striker is not suffering from a serious injury.
He told the club’s official website: “Berbatov’s injury isn’t serious. He got injured the week before.
“We’ve been getting a few injuries but it happens. At the moment, we’re going through a spell where we’re getting a few a week but we have to get on with it.”
Ferguson has confirmed that Brazilian twins Fabio and Rafael will also miss Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa with injuries.
