Cleverley, who has spent this season on loan at Wigan, is keen to become next year’s Wilshere when he returns to Old Trafford next season.
The 21-year-old said: “I look at how Jack Wilshere has managed to do everything, and now he’s playing every week in the top flight at Arsenal. It’s pretty rare you get that chance but, comparing us, I look at what he has achieved this year and hope I can do it next season.
“I want to finish on a high with Wigan and then break into the United squad when I go back.”
