The England ace told The Sun: “That was fantastic to hear. Denis got so many goals and is rightly called the King of Old Trafford, so for him to say that gives you a lot of confidence.
“I really appreciate compliments but especially from a legend like him, who’s one of the true greats.
“But I don’t think there is too much expectancy on me, because the likes of Giggsy, Scholesy, Cristiano – the whole team has been playing brilliant this season.
“That means opponents don’t know what to do. They see Ronaldo running down the wing, or Scholesy and Giggsy coming through the middle and don’t know who to pick up.
“Goals are coming from everywhere and teams know they can’t just concentrate on one or two players.”
