He told MUTV: “Their experience will be vital for us.
“They have been there and done it all before. It gives young players like myself and Cristiano Ronaldo someone to look up to and see how they are coping with the situation.
“Hopefully then we can do the same.”
Rooney is confident they can hold off Chelsea, in the title race.
He added: “There has always been confidence and belief in the team.
“We know we are getting towards the end of the season but we just have to keep on doing as we have been.
“We do not want to throw away the lead we have got. We have to try and win all our games. If we do that, we will be okay.”
