The 30-year-old is currently a free agent after being released by Greek side Olympiakos in the summer.
Maresca has been linked with a return to West Brom, who he played for between 1998 and 2000.
“In January I’d like to come back to Italy,” he told calciomercato.com.
“In this moment I’m not currently in talks with Italian team, not even with Fiorentina or Palermo.
“A return in England to West Bromwich? These are just rumours, nothing true.
“My desire is to return to play in Serie A, I have no preference of which team.
“If I don’t receive bids from Italy, I will evaluate proposals from abroad.”
