Marotta has been linked with a role at Napoli. Marotta held talks with Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis when the Azzurri appointed Walter Mazzarri as new coach.
“Myself and De Laurentiis spoke about everything in the meeting we had a few weeks ago. We spoke about Mazzarri, as he was still under contract with Sampdoria,” Marotta told Controcampo.
“De Laurentiis loves Napoli. We did not speak about myself at Napoli in future. I am fine at Sampdoria and I want to stay here.”
