McClaren said when The Sun asked if he expected to lose his job: “I’m not thinking about that, I’m really not.
“It’s what happens after 12 games and Russia have got two to play and we’ve got one.”
McClaren added on if he could stay if England did not qualify: “That is not crossing my mind whatsoever. This is a huge disappointment to everybody.
“We’ve lost a football match, a big football match, and you can’t expect me to be confident and breezy.”
