The 48-year-old led the Andalucian giants to promotion to La Liga in his first season in charge, after being appointed last summer.
He told Reuters: “I’m staying with the team I wanted to be with.
“They have given me the chance to head up a project for a minimum of three years. The contract… is dependent on Betis remaining in the Primera Division.”
