Southgate said: “I have spoken to Steve about it just to let him know what his normal week is like because that benefits everyone and he gets quite tight after games.
“Steve is totally with us on that he wants a fit Woody as much as we do. As we saw here, the better quality opposition, the better he plays.
“This season has already been a great learning process for me and the boys on the field are getting the results. We are making progress, there is a lot more flow to us and we play to our strengths.”
