The South African told The Sun: “It’s a big cup and one that you have to play against experienced players and clubs that have been there before.
“We have come into it for the first time in a long time ? it’s really difficult for us. We know how tough it is and all we are trying to do is do well as possible.
“This is the first time we have been in the UEFA Cup under Mark Hughes and the first time most of the players have been in it.
“Of course we want to win it, but the further we go from here is an achievement. Saying that, we can beat any team in it.
“We are happy to be in the UEFA Cup and we are happy with the distraction from the Premiership – no player can say that is not true.
“It’s about experiencing the competition and knowing how to deal with it. We just have to show how strong we are and we have players at this club who can do the job.
“It is going to be really tough against Feyenoord – they’ve played in the Uefa Cup for years. But it’s a good opportunity for us ? we want to go out in Rotterdam and show what we can do.
“It’s not going to be easy at all and we know how much it is going to take for us to win the game. But with the quality we have we will definitely compete.”
