The 23-year-old has signed a one-year deal with Motherwell after impressing on trial at the club.
Motherwell have also revealed they are close to landing Blackburn starlet Nick Blackman in a loan deal.
“We’re pleased to have signed Esteban and we think he’ll provide good fodder for John Sutton and Jamie Murphy,” Well boss Craig Brown told the club’s official website.
“We are also hopeful of completing a loan move for Blackburn’s Nick Blackman tomorrow (Friday).
“He comes very highly recommended from Sam Allardyce and Steve Kean, two men I trust implicitly.
“I want to be clear though that neither are a reflection on our current strikers, Jamie Murphy and John Sutton, who have been fantastic for us.
“Any SPL team needs at least five strikers and, if we can complete the capture of Blackman, we’ll have just that.”
