The youngster is currently on loan from Udinese.
Beppe Bozzo told RomaNews: “Things are moving but it’s still a little too soon to say. Roma’s representatives have from now till June, and we are very optimistic.”
He continued: “Marco never dreamt it would go so well, he is a great professional and a superb athlete, but to be honest one does need a bit of luck as well.
“Everybody has worked hard, and it’s nice to see he fits in so well with [Roma coach Luciano] Spalletti’s plans.
“Now we must go on like this, Marco has a good family that looks after him, and I don’t think he will get too big for his boots.”
