Moyes was disappointed that his side did not manage to deal with Bolton’s direct style of play.
“You know what Bolton are going to do,” he told Sky Sports.
“You know how they are going to play, and if you can’t do the basics and head things and kick them clear and do that then you’re always going to be in trouble.
“I thought we were never out of it. I thought before we lost the goal I thought we had the ball, I thought we were nice to watch, I think we were quite pretty.
“Bolton weren’t, they got the ball in there and upset us. We couldn’t deal with it, but I thought our play was quite good even near enough after the first two or three minutes I thought our play was fine but it all petered out.
“We worked very hard to get ourselves back in the game, we should never have got ourselves in that position in the first place.
“But we did. Credit as we fought to get back but we seemed to run out of energy in the last 15 minutes.”
