Mutu seeks redemption

The Romanian walked out of training earlier this month amid rows over his future, with the forward keen to leave the club. However, he has reportedly sacked his agent and now appears to want to stay with the Italian side.

He said: “I want to stay here and now I’d like to give my hand to Fiorentina to come back and play.

“I’m not here to cry but, as always, to show my face after a difficult period.

“I’m sorry for this situation. I was wrong to leave the team, the coach and the club before the game with Bologna.

“I’m ready to restart from the beginning as I if I had just arrived.”
