Turner is closing in on a move to Sunderland.
He said: “Of course, no-one wants to lose a player of Michael’s calibre but it is not our call.
“It is the people in charge of the club who have to make the decision. All we do is get on with it.
“I don’t know anything about that. What I will say is if he does go, he will do so with everyone’s best wishes.”
