Dossena have failed to make an impact in the Premier League after joining Liverpool from Udinese in a £7million deal last summer.
Juventus have previously been linked with the defender.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis told Corriere dello Sport: “I’ve personally spoken with Rafa Benitez. The negotiation is ongoing.”
